What happens when you combine data science and creative strategy? You get an Instagram glow-up, that’s what. Here’s how social stylist, Amanda Coronado and Creatrix styled Sephora’s Instagram Glow Up with only their most popular posts.

Sephora’s an iconic, global beauty retailer, and just like their products, some of their Instagram posts perform better than others.

I wanted to give their Instagram a make-over by reusing the posts that get the best results to show you how you can save time and money, doubling down on what’s already catching the eye of your audience on social media.

Then I’m sprinkling on some social styling magic by restyling their page in 3 alternative row flows so that you can copy the style that suits you best.

What’s a row flow I hear you ask?

It’s how you order your posts on your grid page. And it’s easier to show than tell, so I’ll show you exactly what I mean in this blog AND if you want to get +20 templates so that you can try Row Flow on your brand, get it here for FREE.

Step One: Priming Your Page

I ran an audit on Sephora’s top posts from June 8th 2024 to August 8th 2024

Here’s a snapshot overview of their top 10 posts.

What content is working best for Sephora?

It’s clear that Sephora’s audience loves celebrity collaborations mixed with playful content the most. Out of hundreds of posts, posts featuring high-profile close up shots from Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Rhianna are in their top 10. Sephora’s audience also loves funny videos and cute product shots (especially for skin and lip care products).

Repurposing Content & Social Styling:

Instead of sticking to a content calendar that relies on set dates and times, posting to a Row Flow turns Instagram into creative puzzle play and gives you a fun and dynamic way to present your content based on how you’re flowing your row.

Taking these insights, I revamped Sephora’s social styling by repurposing their top 10 posts in 3 alternative Row Flow’s.

Colorblocking: I took the top-performing posts and restyled them by color in horizontal stripes..

Each row has it’s own color scheme (black, pink and brown) that organizes the content in a fun stripey row flow that will catch your audience’s eyes.

Cross categories: I styled the posts into 2 top categories (products and people) and designed a cross shape so they contrasted each other.

Feature Image: I created a focus in the center of the grid to bring all posts together and highlight Sephora’s top performing beauty product post. Surrounding the focal post, I organized the two top categories (products and people) in the cross shape.
